"Survive if you can" - Russian "ex-convict" Yakovlev tells how the Ministry of Defence recruited 110 convicts from St. Petersburg prison and threw them to the frontline without supplies, or provisions.
According to Yakovlev, on February 21 they were brought to the Donetsk region. They were not given any documents, were placed in a basement, and left without professional soldiers. Of the promised salary, only 40,000 rubles were paid. Yakovlev notes that the six-month contract had no conditions except to survive if they can.
