Ukraine agrees to 30-day ceasefire if Russia abides by it. Kyiv is ready to accept Washington’s proposal to immediately implement a temporary, 30-day ceasefire which can be extended by mutual agreement, the Presidential Office announced on March 11 after the talks with the U.S. in Saudi Arabia.
Trump will talk to Putin soon as Russia flags possible contact with US in coming days. “If we can get Russia to do it, that’ll be great. If we can’t, we just keep going on, and people are going to get killed, lots of people,” Trump told reporters at the White House on March 11.
Over 50% of Ukrainians think West holds back military aid in fear of Russia losing war. According to a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) at the request of the Kyiv Independent, 51.2% of Ukrainians believe that Western countries fear that Russia will lose the all-out war against Ukraine and hold off military aid to Kyiv as a result.
Putin unwilling to compromise on Ukraine, sets maximalist demands, Bloomberg reports. Russian President Vladimir Putin has deliberately set “maximalist” demands on land, peacekeepers, and Ukraine’s neutrality, knowing they will likely be unacceptable to Kyiv and European nations, undisclosed officials told Bloomberg.
‘Ball is in their court’ — Rubio on Russia’s move toward ceasefire with Ukraine. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio voiced hope on March 11 that Russia would accept the proposal for a temporary ceasefire with Ukraine.

‘If Russia refuses, we should sanction the hell out of them’ — Trump, Sen. Graham hope Putin agrees to ceasefire. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that U.S. officials would meet with Russian representatives in the coming days to discuss the ceasefire.
Half of Ukrainians say territorial concessions, forfeiting NATO membership in exchange for ending war ‘completely unacceptable.’ According to a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) at the request of the Kyiv Independent, 47.1% of Ukrainians consider it “completely unacceptable” to agree to territorial concessions and give up on NATO membership as a prerequisite to ending the war. Only 8.2% said they would “easily agree” to this scenario.
Ukraine targets Russian oil facilities in Moscow, Oryol oblasts in mass strike overnight, military claims. The operation “struck a number of Russian strategic objects, enabling armed aggression against Ukraine,” the military said.
Oil shipments via Druzhba pipeline halted due to Ukrainian drone attack in Russia, Hungary says. Ukrainian forces reportedly struck the Druzhba pipeline in Russia’s Oryol Oblast on March 11. Following the attack, Peter Szijjarto said that the oil supply was halted.
Russia claims to recapture 12 Kursk Oblast settlements amid new offensive.
Russian forces have recaptured 12 settlements and 100 square kilometers in Kursk Oblast previously held by Ukrainian troops, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed on March 11.

Russian attacks on Donetsk Oblast kill 4, injure 5. Russian troops launched a series of attacks on March 11 against Donetsk Oblast, killing at least four civilians and injuring five, Governor Vadym Filashkin reported.
1 killed, 17 injured in Russian attacks against Ukraine over past day. Ukraine’s Air Force intercepted 79 of the 126 Russian drones launched overnight, including Shahed-type attack drones, as well as one Iskander-M ballistic missile.
International response
White House lists Saudi talks with Ukraine, Russia in Trump’s first 50 days achievements. “President Trump has brought Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table through historic peace talks in Saudi Arabia in pursuit of peace,” the official statement reads.
US to ‘immediately’ resume security assistance, intelligence sharing to Ukraine. The statement follows the talks between Ukraine and the U.S. in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Von der Leyen welcomes US, Ukraine talks and reaffirms EU support. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the results of Ukraine’s talks with the U.S. in Jeddah, on March 11, and reaffirmed the EU’s support.
Macron rallies Europe to back Ukraine following ceasefire talks, Le Monde reports. Speaking at a closed-door meeting in Paris on March 11, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu said his country “will reject any form of demilitarisation of Ukraine.”
Poland ready to receive American aid for Ukraine. Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said Poland is ready to activate its Jasionka hub, maintaining full operational capabilities for American support.
