Russian attack on Dobropillia in Donetsk Oblast kills 11, injures 50 as region declares day of mourning. Russian forces launched multiple strikes on Dobropillia late on March 7, killing 11 people and injuring a further 50, including seven children.
Ukraine considers Kursk withdrawal amid fears of encirclement of 10,000 troops, Telegraph reports. Ukraine’s forces are considering a withdrawal from Kursk, with 10,000 Ukrainian troops at risk of encirclement after Russia broke through key defense lines and disrupted supply chains, The Telegraph reported on March 8.
Russian troops reportedly attack Sudzha in Kursk Oblast as Ukraine’s logistical routes are cut off. Butusov wrote on Facebook on March 8 that Russian troops had used a gas pipeline to approach Ukrainian positions in Sudzha in Kursk Oblast. He added that the troops are being “liquidated.”

Ukrainian drones attacked Russian oil refinery in Leningrad Oblast, military intelligence source says. Drones attacked an oil refinery in Russia’s Leningrad Oblast overnight on March 8 in an operation carried out by Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR), a HUR source told the Kyiv Independent.
Zelensky names delegation for meeting with US in Saudi Arabia. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced his delegation to represent Ukraine in upcoming talks with the U.S. in Saudi Arabia on March 8.
France to provide $211 million in military aid to Ukraine backed by frozen Russian assets. France will provide Ukraine with 195 million euros ($211 million) in military aid using the interest accrued from frozen Russian assets, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu told La Tribune in an interview published March 8.
Sweden to allocate $2.2 million in support of Ukrainian women. Sweden will provide over $2 million (22.5 million Swedish kronor) to support Ukrainian women, the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine announced on March 8.
