Law enforcement charges famous lawmaker with high treason. Ukraine’s Bureau of Investigation charged lawmaker Oleksandr Dubinskyi with high treason.

Zelensky: ‘Ukrainian sky shield more powerful compared to last year.’ President Volodymyr Zelensky said that states like the U.S., Germany, France, the U.K., Norway, Italy, Romania, Sweden, the Netherlands, Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Poland, the Baltic countries, and others have assisted Ukraine in building up its air defense capabilities.

Training center for Ukrainian F-16 pilots opens in Romania. The training center for Ukrainian pilots to learn how to fly F-16 fighter jets has officially opened in Romania, Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar announced on Nov. 13.

US Ambassador: 100th ship passes through Black Sea humanitarian corridor. The 100th ship has departed through the Black Sea humanitarian corridor since its opening in August, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said on Nov. 13.

Official: Polish truck drivers won’t unblock border, talks lead nowhere. The negotiations failed to end the dispute between Ukraine and the Polish drivers demanding renewed restrictions on the number of Ukrainian trucks permitted in Poland as this request is “unrealistic at the moment,” Deputy Infrastructure Minister Serhii Derkach said.

SBU detains 2 people allegedly attempting to help coordinate Russian airstrikes. Two people suspected of attempting to aid Russian attacks on Kyiv and Cherkasy have been detained, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported on Nov. 13. They allegedly took photographs of the damage caused by attacks and tried to find out the coordinates of Ukrainian air defense systems, including Patriots.

Man who aided Russian strikes on central Kharkiv sentenced to life in prison. A local man who aided Russian strikes on Kharkiv, including the attack on the Regional State Administration building, has been sentenced to life in prison, the Prosecutor General’s Office said on Nov. 13.

Former pro-Russian lawmaker sentenced in absentia to 14 years on treason charges. The Lychakivskyi District Court in Lviv sentenced Illia Kyva, a pro-Russian former MP, to 14 years in prison in absentia on treason and other related charges, the court reported on Nov. 13.

Air Force: Ukraine adapts Soviet air defense systems to fire US missiles. Ukraine has successfully converted Soviet Buk-M1 air defense systems to fire missiles produced by the United States, Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said in an interview with Radio NV on Nov. 12.

DTEK contracts another 70,000 tons of coal imports from Poland. Ukraine’s private energy giant DTEK has contracted an additional 70,000 metric tons of coal from Poland as it prepares for a second winter of Russian attacks on the country’s energy system, the company said in a statement on Nov. 13.

Human cost of war

Russian attack in Kherson kills 1, injures 2, including 2-month-old baby. Russian shelling struck a car on the outskirts of the city of Kherson on Nov. 13, causing it to catch fire and killing the man driving it, as well as causing serious injuries to a 36-year-old woman, and head injuries to her two-month-old baby, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko wrote on Telegram.

Kherson hit by heavy Russian shelling, 2 killed. Russian forces launched a heavy attack on the center of Kherson, killing two people and injuring 10 others, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported on Nov. 13.

General Staff: Russia has lost 312,550 troops in Ukraine. This number includes 800 casualties Russian forces suffered just over the past day.

International response

Pistorius confirms plan to double Germany’s military aid to Ukraine for 2024. Germany will double its military aid to Ukraine for 2024, raising the figure from 4 billion euros ($4.3 billion) to 8 billion euros ($8.6 billion), German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in an interview with the German broadcaster ARD on Nov. 12.

Germany to provide Ukraine with 2 more IRIS-T air defense systems. Germany will deliver two more IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine, Martin Jaeger, Germany’s ambassador to Ukraine, said at the Formula for Ukrainian Success forum on Nov. 12.

Borrell: Ukraine’s EU membership bid creates momentum for further enlargement. The EU Commission’s support for Ukraine membership talks can revitalize stagnating admission processes of other candidate countries, the EU’s chief diplomat, Josep Borrell, said on Nov. 13, Ukrinform reported.

Hungarian FM: Budapest will block next tranche of EU military aid for Ukraine unless it receives ‘guarantees’. Hungary will not support the next disbursement of military aid for Ukraine under the EU’s European Peace Facility (EPF) unless it receives guarantees that no Hungarian company will be added to Ukraine’s international sponsors of war list, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Nov. 13.

Norway allocates $90 million in humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Norway will provide one billion Norwegian kroner ($89.7 million) in additional funding to domestic humanitarian aid organizations operating in Ukraine, Norway’s Foreign Ministry announced on Nov. 13.

US purchases 60 Gepard anti-aircraft guns from Jordan to send to Ukraine. The weapons originated from the Netherlands, which sold them to Jordan in 2013 for 21 million euros. Only 10 years later, the U.S. Department of Defense purchased them from Jordan for 110 million euros, the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported on Nov. 13, citing unnamed sources.

Sullivan: ‘The window is closing’ on US funding for Ukraine. “Each week that passes, our ability to fully fund what we feel is necessary to give Ukraine the tools and capacities it needs to both defend its territory and continue to make advances, that gets harder and harder,” U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters.
