Mayor: Russian strike damages Odesa art museum. “A little bit here, a little bit there, and we could have lost many of our pieces, exhibits that are very famous all over the world,” Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov told Suspilne.
Zelensky: Soldiers’ deaths at award ceremony ‘could have been avoided.’ Ukraine has launched an investigation into the deaths of soldiers in the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade and changes will be made in the military to address negligence, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening address on Nov. 5.
Military: Ukraine damages Russian cruiser ‘Askold’ in Crimea. Satellite images published on Nov. 5 show that Ukraine’s attacks on Crimea on Nov. 4 damaged the Russian Askold cruise missile carrier, Navy Captain Andrii Ryzhenko told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s investigative program Schemes.
Zelensky invites Trump to Ukraine, claims presidential candidate ‘can’t manage this war.’ Volodymyr Zelensky invited US presidential candidate Donald Trump to Ukraine during an interview with NBC News on Nov. 5.
Military: Ukraine destroys Russian electronic warfare system. Ukrainian forces have destroyed a Russian “Pole-21” electronic warfare system, General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the commander of the Tavria Group fighting on the southern front lines, reported on Nov. 5.

Russian troops attack 19 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, damaging infrastructure. Local authorities received several reports of residential buildings and infrastructure facilities being damaged following the attacks.
Russia hits Donetsk Oblast’s Avdiivka with missiles, artillery. Russian troops launched a missile attack and “massive” artillery strike against Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast on the morning of Nov. 5, acting Governor Ihor Moroz reported.
PM Shmyhal: 20,000 families granted funds to repair homes damaged in attacks. The funds were disbursed under the country’s eRecovery program, which allows citizens with damaged homes to apply for housing repair grants through the government services application Diia.
Official: Russian ammunition depot on fire deep in occupied Donetsk Oblast. The depot is located in the coastal village Sedovo, less than 10 kilometers from the border with Russia’s Rostov Oblast.
Russian media: Construction begins on railway linking Rostov-on-Don to occupied Crimea. Yevhen Balytsky, the head of Russia’s proxies in occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast, told reporters that the railway will run from Yakymivka, near Melitopol, to Rostov-on-Don via Berdiansk and Mariupol.

Night attack on Odesa injures 5. All five victims have been hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper said.
Prosecutors: Russian shelling injures 5 in Kherson. Russian strikes against the residential areas of Kherson wounded five people on Nov. 5, the regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.
Governor: Russian shelling kills 1, injures 2 in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Russian artillery strike killed a man in the Nikopol district on Nov. 5, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Serhii Lysak reported. Another strike wounded two men aged 30 and 58 in the Myrove community, he said.
General Staff: Russia has lost 305,090 troops in Ukraine. This number includes 990 casualties Russian forces suffered just over the past day, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported on Nov. 5.
