Ukrainian navy denies Russian claims of destroyed vessels. Ukraine’s navy has denied Russian claims of having destroyed Ukrainian ships and boats in a recent attack on southern regions of the country.

Russia claims capture of Umanske village in Donetsk Oblast. In its daily situation report on June 2, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces did not mention Umanske but did say Russian forces were “trying to advance” in the direction of Sokil, a village around 10 kilometers to the north.

Russian oil refinery in Komi Republic catches fire, casualties reported.

A Russian oil refinery in the northwestern Komi Republic caught fire on June 2, leading to casualties, the Komi Republic’s Investigative Committee said.

Ground Forces: Some online videos of conflicts with mobilization officers are Russian information operation. Ukraine’s Ground Forces said that a “heavy portion” of the videos on social media networks depicting conflicts with mobilization officers or Armed Forces servicemen are products of an “enemy information operation,” according to the branch’s Telegram post on June 2. Violence has occurred at some recruitment centers, making the issue vulnerable to exploitation by Russian disinformation actors.

Defense Ministry: Around 1.5 million men have updated military data in new online system. Around 1.5 million military-aged men have successfully updated their military documents in compliance with a new mobilization law passed in late-May, the Defense Ministry reported on June 2.

One source said China had insisted the summit should be recognized by both Russia and Ukraine and both countries should participate. Publicly, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that attending would be “difficult.”

Danish Ambassador holds discussions with top authority of Kyiv Regional Military Administration about collaborative initiatives for Kyiv Oblast.

During a meeting between Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, and Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, the Danish Ambassador to Ukraine, they discussed priority projects for the Kyiv region.
