Zelensky: Russia attacked Ukraine with 65 missiles, over 100 drones in past week. Russian forces launched 65 various missiles against Ukraine, as well as 178 combat drones, including 87 Iranian-made Shahed drones, over the past week, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Aug. 6.
Ukrainian military confirms striking key Russian bridges to Crimea. The Ukrainian military confirmed on Aug. 6 that it struck two key road bridges linking the Crimean Peninsula to Russian-occupied parts of southern Ukraine.
Moscow mayor claims drone shot down by air defense. A drone headed to Moscow was shot down by Russian air defense around 11 a.m. local time, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed on Aug. 6.
Military: Ukrainian forces destroyed 6 Russian ammunition depots, military equipment over one day. Ukrainian forces destroyed 21 units of Russian military equipment and six ammunition depots at the southern front line over the past day, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi reported on Aug. 6.

ISW: Russian officials continue to kidnap children under guise of ‘vacations’. Russian officials continue to kidnap and transport Ukrainian children from Russian-occupied territories to Russia under the guise of ‘summer vacations,’ the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote in its assessment from Aug. 5.
Air Force: Over 3,500 Russian aerial targets destroyed since start of full-scale war. Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk reported on Aug. 6 that over 3,500 Russian aerial targets have been destroyed since the start of the full-scale invasion.
UK Defense Ministry: Nearly half of Russian paratroopers deployed to Ukraine likely killed or wounded. At least 50% of the 30,000 paratroopers deployed to Ukraine in 2022 have likely been killed or wounded, the U.K. Defense Ministry wrote in its intelligence update on Aug. 6.
Air Force: Protocols in place to protect Ukrainian aircraft during Russian attacks. Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said on national television on Aug. 6 that Russia’s latest attempt to attack the airfield in Starokostiantyniv in Khmelnytskyi Oblast was ineffective because there are protocols in place to protect aircraft.

Prosecutor General’s Office: 499 children killed, 1,090 injured by Russia’s all-out war. The Prosecutor General’s Office reported on Aug. 6 that 499 Ukrainian children have been officially reported killed since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion last year.
Governor: 2 killed, 2 injured in Russian attacks on Donetsk Oblast. Two people were killed and two others were injured in Russian attacks against Donetsk Oblast over the past 24 hours, Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko reported on Aug. 6.
Former MP killed in action. Serhiy Slabenko, former member of Ukraine’s Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, was killed in combat at the Zaporizhzhian front, the government announced on Aug. 6.
2 elderly women injured in attack on Kherson Oblast. On the evening of Aug. 6, the Russian military shelled the village of Olhivka in Kherson Oblast, injuring a 73-year-old and 77-year-old womаn.
Governor: Russia’s recent attacks kill at least 3, injure 6 in Kharkiv Oblast. At least three people were killed and six others were injured by Russian attacks against Kharkiv Oblast over the past 24 hours, according to Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
General Staff: Russia has lost 249,700 troops in Ukraine. The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported on Aug. 6 that Russia had lost 590 casualties just over the past day.

Media: China’s role in peace talks may signal major shift. China’s participation in the Saudia Arabia peace talks could signal a shift in Beijing’s allegiance, experts told journalists from Reuters.
As 40 countries discuss peace for Ukraine, Medvedev says Kyiv ‘must beg for mercy.’ As diplomats and national security advisors from over 40 countries discussed ways of ending Russia’s war against Ukraine in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, known for spreading xenophobic remarks, said on Aug. 6 that Kyiv “must beg Moscow for mercy.”
